Our team

Dr. Rishi Das Gupta  is co-founder of NodeNs Medical, and also a senior manager in the NHS with a background as a medical doctor. He is currently also Chief Executive Officer of the Health Innovation Network, an Academic Health Science Network which is the innovation arm of the NHS focused on spread and adoption of innovation and leads the AHSN digital programme. In his past roles as CITO at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS FT and as Director of Innovation at University College London Hospitals NHS FT he led the innovation and transformation programmes, with multiple digital technology streams including use of an RTLS systems to improve efficiency. He has deep experience of hospital operations through operational management roles in the NHS and as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company. He holds an MBA from the London Business School, and degrees in law (MA; Cambridge) and medicine (MBBS; London).

Dr. Khalid Rajab is co-founder of NodeNs Medical, and also holds a faculty post at Queen Mary University of London. He has extensive experience in technologies including wireless communications from radio frequency to mmWave, active and reconfigurable antennas and electronics, and location sensing; his research interests have included esoteric topics such as metamaterials, invisibility cloaks, and quantum-inspired algorithms for musical analysis. His work has been featured in the popular media, both in the UK and internationally, including by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC; Canada), Scientific American (Chinese edition), and Science Radio (USA). He holds degrees in electrical engineering (PhD, BSc) and mathematics (MA) from Penn State University.

Dr. Peter Alizadeh leads development of mmWave and DSP electronics, as well as antenna design. He has expertise in active/reconfigurable mmWave structures, mmWave electronic hardware design, antennas and radar systems. He has significant experience developing electronics and control units for devices and applications at radio frequency to mmWaves. He also has extensive knowledge of measurement systems and techniques from low frequencies to THz. His projects have included a wireless telemetry system for a high altitude balloon and various radar systems. More recently he has developed a novel reconfigurable mmWave reflectarray, using Light Emitting Diodes to activate and tune photoconductive semiconductors on an inkjet-printed silver array, in order to modulate and steer the beam pattern. He has a PhD in electronic engineering from Queen Mary University of London.

Svetlana Tsourikova is our Operations & Business Growth Manager. She set up her own business growth and value creation consultancy while pursuing an MBA at London Business School, where she had originated, negotiated and delivered multi-dimensional business growth assignments for 9 years in London, New York, Spain, Sweden and across the EU. Her selected clients included the portfolio companies of Brookfield, Hellman & Friedman, Bain Capital, Sovereign Capital, Graphite Capital. Svetlana brings knowledge, networks and experience across business development, value creation and strategic business analysis. Before joining NodeNs, Svetlana spent significant time consulting in corporate innovation for B2C and B2B electronic devices. She has an MBA from London Business School. 

Dr. Laurel S Pardue is an experienced sensor, systems and communications engineer with a talent for low-latency and responsive designs. In addition to audio engineering positions at QMUL’s Centre for Digital Music and MIT’s Media Lab, she has also served leadership roles as a Captain in the US Air Force, and as an Information Analyst for the UN Mission in Liberia. She holds a PhD from QMUL, and degrees in CSEE (BS, MEng), Music (BS), and Media Arts & Sciences (MS) from MIT. She is also a professional violinist, violist, and Balinese gamelan musician.
